In July 2017 an appointment at Auckland Hospital for what was expected to be pinched nerves rapidly turned into a diagnosis of highly aggressive Acute Lymphatic Leukaemia. When you hear those words, time seems to stands still, your life goes on hold and you have a single focus of beating this illness. But time doesn’t stand still – life goes on as do the everyday stresses and anything that can be done to alleviate those for your family and yourself is desperately needed.
I called Michael the day I was diagnosed and from there Michael was by my side, not only as my ‘insurance broker’, but a friend. He became the gate keeper between myself and the insurance company and took complete ownership of handling all matters related to this. It was more than I was expecting given experiences with past brokers and was one less thing we had to deal with.
Michael is someone who really cares about his clients, with most becoming good friends. Having been through what I went through, having him by my side was invaluable.
